In the Middle Ages the Church of Santa Maria a Gradillo in Ravello was the parish seat of the people, the place where "the people of Ravello met to discuss public affairs." It located in a strategic position from which the routes for walking around the beautiful city of Ravello.
Founded in the eleventh century the church has been repeatedly restored. The interior has three naves and contains both inside and outside a mix of Arabic and Byzantine elements that make it particularly attractive.
